I will totally join you! Because I want to get back into the swing of one script per week (which is how I used to be with Outcasts until a wave of drama hit me and my crew from all sides), I might up my to 10 pages a day, but regardless, I will be joining you on this most definitely. I think there will be many times where we would bump the page count up a bit, if we get into the script enough to write more than five pages. But five should be the least amount of pages to be written. If we write more.... hell, even better Yay! Kerry and Aimee! Really excited to get this started, and I hope it becomes a practice for a lot of writers here on the forum, including me because I'm so freaking lazy.

I want to dedicate my summer (and beyond) to a ''Five Pages a Day Initiative," where I must write AT LEAST five pages of the current script I'm working on, a day, as long as I have a finished outline. If everything goes as planned, in under two weeks time (maybe less if I extend the number of pages) I'll have a finished script. Do you think it can be done, successfully? If so, who wants to join me? Perhaps we can upload the pages, or at least a scene or two from them each day to track our progress, and with each page completed, we get "Page Points," and if we don't make it to 5 pages on a certain day, they don't get the full amount of points. The writer with the most points get a prize? Self-satisfaction and praise. Or... you know... not. P.S. I feel like this may be one of those things in the movie where the dude is like "Who's with me!!?" and we get serenaded by crickets. I hope not. Either way, I'm really hoping I stick with this.

This is a discussion that can go on for decades and still be relevant to society. As much as I would like to believe that one day, equality will be something on everyone's minds, and not only that, but put into serious action, there may always be people in this world that do not believe in it.
I share the same beliefs as you, and while I wish more people shared these views, it's just not the case. I don't know when ''fights for acceptance,'' when it comes to race, sexual orientation, gender, etc... will come to a much needed end; or if it ever will come to end; but I do hope for that day.
I know this is a tricky subject to get engaged in, and I don't usually share my views of such large topics, but in this day and age, I think it's insane that we are struggling as much as we are.

I guess I don't have to hide it in a PM. LOL Here's the link: brokenmirrorproductions.weebly.com/uploads/6/8/3/8/6838324/rebirth_-_1x01_-_pilot.pdfI'm working on a new outline for the pilot, then I'll rewrite it. As it is, there are a few issues with the characters and dialogue that I want to correct before I put it into full development. May take a while, but perhaps time and more experience with writing scripts will help me get to the place I want to be when I get back to Rebirth.

I need this show in my life! I love inception so anything remotely relating to that i know i'm going to love. I love the casting choice's and agree with Chris that its great to see a female extractor, Evangeline Lilly will kick ass in that role. Thanks Jay!! I'm really glad to be getting so much support for this show. Inception is one of my favorite things in the world, and I'm really going to try to give my all when writing this thing. The casting of Sonya was a no brainer. When I pictured what the show would be look like, I imagined Evangeline from day one. Don't know why. The only thing I've seen her in is LOST and I couldn't stand the character she played. But the actress in this role just...works in my head. That's awesome, and exactly what I wanted to bring across with the pitch. While the show will operate in a semi-procedural manner, the characters are going to be developing and changing with each episode, and that's where the serialized style will shine through. Not with an ongoing mystery or arc, but with constant character development. Rebirth isn't gone. It's just taking a break in order to be reformatted and rewritten. The first draft of the pilot is complete. If you want to read it, I could PM it to you. But it may be a while before anything new comes out of it.

I tried to watch "Drive" today. It's not that it wasn't good, but it took what seemed like forever for the character to have a conversation. Seriously, it was like... CHARACTER 1 Hi. How are you?
Awkward staring between Character 1 and Character 2. Fifteen Seconds Later...
CHARACTER 2 I'm fine. I just couldn't take it anymore and shut it off. Attempt number 2 to come.

But on the absurd side, I feel like a character is a character. XD And no matter which way you turn it, that's what they are. But anyway, this somehow became a semi-rant, and that's how I see it. XD I agree with you there, Brady. And ranting is great! I love ranting. It makes for good and healthy discussion.

When writing or pitching a new show, do you find yourself leaning more toward a male or female lead, and why?
Do females usually write female leads? Do males usually write male leads? Does anyone feel better writing leads of the opposite sex?
I myself typically write male leads. I don't think it's because I'm male, so I feel more comfortable writing males. It has a lot to do with the initial image I get when developing a show, and its characters. If I see a female in the lead role, I'll write for one, which was the case (for the first time ever!) in my latest project, Dreamscape.

Sookie was completely wasted, and it's the most I've enjoyed her character in a long while. I hope she continues to improve because seriously, she's the lead and she's like dead weight to me.

I don't like Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn or Jonah Hill, so I can't see myself liking this one

I don't know about Tyler Perry in this role, but I've got to think that they wouldn't cast him if he wasn't good. Though, I've been wrong before.

@kerry - Thanks Kerry! I'm glad you like the idea! Working on the pilot outline right now, and I'm loving this show already. @dan - Thanks Dan, for your support! @chris - I partially brought this show out for you, because you love Inception so much. HAHA! So thanks a lot. and yes. I couldn't see anyone but Tom Hardy when I was making Wes' character and then I saw this guy and was like... omg Perfect.

@brady - Thanks! I'm really glad you like this pitch. Oh my god... you have got to see INCEPTION, ASAP. Seriously, it's like one of the best things ever. With the episodes, I wanted to make sure I had descriptions for all of them before I submitted the pitch. Just so I can have a clear idea of where the season is going. So, I'm glad you like them! @karl - Thanks a lot! I really hope I go through with this idea.

After the sudden death of her twin sister, Sonya Conrad is hired to take her place as the leader of an elite team of thieves that operate in unique ways. Using a process called "extraction," Sonya and her team of specialists perform illegal and dangerous heists by entering the subconscious minds of their targets, in order to extract information useful to their contractors. Operating as "thieves for hire," each episode will focus on a different contract, and a different mind heist. STARRING...Evangeline Lilly Timothy Olyphant James Marsden Logan Marshall-Green Soyna Conrad, The Extractor, is the head of a group of thieves that specialize in extracting information from people's subconscious. Sonya, like her twin sister Samantha, is highly educated in neuroscience and psychology, making her the ideal "extractor." Taking her sisters place has not been easy, but she will not let her team down. Matthew Bowers, The Point Man, was Samantha's second hand and secret lover. It has been especially difficult for him to accept Sonya's role in the group, but he does his best to keep his emotions to himself. Matthew is the team's researcher and planner; he is the one that makes sure everything in the Dream World is right. Cody Lancaster, The Architect, makes it his business to welcome Sonya unto the team, and is her only true friend so far. He is the quiet, awkwardly shy type; not very social outside this circle. Cody is the designer of the dream spaces, creating the multiple, physical layers of a dream. Wes Francis, The Forger, is a spontaneous renegade with an act for speaking his mind. He didn't particularly care for Samantha, and though he hasn't said so, we can tell that he's glad she's gone. Wes has the ability to imitate others in the dreamworld to the point of taking a person's appearance. THE EPISODES1x01: The Replacement When Samantha Conrad, a highly requested extractor is killed in action, her fellow teammates turn to her twin sister, Sonya, who has a similar skill set. New to the world of dreams and extraction, she is forced to learn quickly in order to complete the mission her sister was not able to, when a wealthy corporate head threatens to "ruin" their reputation if the job is not done successfully. 1x02: The Farm The team is contracted by a secret company that specializes in human experimentation and biological mutations, to go inside the mind a man that might have inside knowledge on their activities. 1x03: Comatose After putting a man in a coma before getting a piece of vital information that may reveal a mole in their midst, a Russian mob boss hires the extractors to go inside his mind to acquire a single name. 1x04: The Road Less Traveled The team is hired by a wealthy and caring mother, looking for her missing daughter. The extractors go into the mind of her daughter's ex boyfriend, who may be responsible for the missing child. 1x05: Outlaws Another extraction team requests Matthew Bowers to assist them in a dangerous mission, which leads to possible exposure to the public. 1x06: Bad Dreams The team must go into the mind of a disturbed child to find out what caused him brutally murder his entire family. 1x07: Samantha Sonya believes she is being messed with when her dead sister keeps appearing in her dreams. 1x08: No Exit The team must find a way out of a collapsing dream before they are trapped in a limbo state, forever. Notes: This series has been in my head since I saw Inception in 2010, and it's just now coming out. While the episode summaries and premise make it seem like I'm taking a strictly procedural route with this show, I'll let you know now, that is not the case. The series would work as both a procedural and serialized drama, due to the lingering mystery behind Samantha's death (though this is just one among many mysteries I haven't established in this pitch) I see this operating under a similar style as "Fringe." Also, I'm looking for a producer to help with development of the show. Obviously, you have to have seen Inception, and preferably, enjoyed it. Now, I know I have been pitching a lot lately, but I'm willing to cancel out all or most of those pitches for this current one, if the idea goes over well. Also, I've been thinking about canceling my Archangel project, due to the fact that I just can't seem to write for it any longer. I've been feeling this way for quite some time now, and I think it's best to call it quits now, than produce a half-witted project. So, tell me what you think of this series. Any feedback is welcome!

I keep hearing that, but I have a problem with actually writing my ideas. Maybe since I'm a fan of Inception, I would be able to actually pen this one? Hopefully.

I've got an idea for a crime/mystery series within the same universe as "INCEPTION." Debating on whether I should develop it more, or bury it into my unconscious mind.

For me, the only way I would be able to 'get with' a Buffy remake, is if it is actually remade into something unique and original. While I don't know how much your remake will resemble the series, I can't judge it quite yet, but if you're serious about this, it may be a good idea to remake Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the ground up. Force yourself to forget everything you know about BtVS, besides the central idea, and just build up from that. You don't even have to have the same characters as the show. Perhaps your characters can have little nods to the originals, but know that they don't have to be the same. This project will more than likely be very controversial, with a lot of different people's opinions being thrown into the mix, but this is mine. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a tricky thing to remake, but it can be done, if the direction is both well thought out and original. Above all, I wouldn't want to read a movie based on the same plots as the show. I would just watch the show instead. It may work better to really make the universe your own. Retell Buffy's story from another characters point of view, or create a reboot of the franchise with a slightly different tone or angle. But this is just my opinion. Whatever you decide to do with this, I wish you good luck, Brian.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that Chris is currently in the hospital right now, after a car accident involving a drunk driver, on Monday. He has a few cuts and fractures but he will be okay, and according to the doctor, he should be released from the hospital by Friday.
I will keep you all posted on his condition, but he should be back home in no time.
