1x11 "Dance, Dance" ReviewOh David, I'm not sure Star Wars references are considered "teen, hip lingo" anymore but points for trying! He's a bit of an idiot and I'm still a bit sad that you didn't go down the route of making him a villain to everyone (Alex and Alisha and Jordan and Angela) because it would be cool to have a third party forming here as right now it's pretty much good vs evil rather than getting twisty. It's nice to see Jordan and Angela addressing their abusive relationship and it's clearly been going on for a while if Angela has apology texts from six months ago. I don't actually know the song she sung with Alisha but it was a pretty cool moment and reminded me of the many sing-offs between the diva characters on Glee. It's a shame that musical moments can't really be pulled off in VS because of the whole lack of music because it seems like a cool sequence in actuality. The scene where Alex and David find the 50 Shades book made me laugh, if only because of their reactions. It's terrible erotica, absolutely terrible. BURN IT! The ending's good and I like the fact Jordan and Angela are getting their bitch on with Alex. I do enjoy a good villain (you might have realized that by now) so it's cool when they're effective and mess the heroes around. I'm not really surprised that Alisha spoke to David first, it must be easier to talk to a stranger than somebody you're scared of leaving, so... I have a feeling I know how the sequence is gonna end.

RESPONSE: Tom East's Reviews of 1.10 "I'm Here," and 1.11 "Dance, Dance"Glad you enjoyed episode ten. I really wanted to show that Michael can act as a father figure to both Alex and Alisha, and that Alisha could come to Michael is she wanted to. The plot isn't supposed to be a very 'loving' plot, if you know what I mean. Yeah, Alyssa is very selfish, so you hit the nail on the head with that one! Alisha has gone through a roller-coaster this entire sequence, and her whole storyline is her confidence growing, and it all gets tested in the end. XD David is, like, the president of the Star Wars fanclub. haha He makes some more references, so if you're not a fan of that... Sorry! XD Like I said, David turning isn't entirely out of the question, but, for now, he's staying with the good side! Jordan and Angela's relationship is the thing I'm currently diving into, with the episodes I'm writing. I hope you enjoy that when it comes around! I really enjoy having some singing on the show, even if it isn't the same as it would be on television, I still have fun writing it, haha. And I'm glad you enjoyed it! I looooved writing Alex and David's scene, purely for the 50 Shades reference haha, but because it really showed that they are friends too, even though David and Alisha have had their eyes on each other. XD And I've never read it. Never plan too. So I guess we can agree on BURN IT! XD I'm reeaaally glad you're, sorta, warming up to Jordan and Angela. They did get their viciousness on in this episode, because, basically, they've had enough. And they're tired of the newbies. haha And it all leads to the finale, so expect the unexpected! ;D

Alright it's time to wrap up my reviews of Audition season one! Audition Christmas Special 'A Very Berreta Christmas' ReviewOkay, first up, I really loved the first page and a bit of this script. The eating of the cookies before the guests arrive is totally something I do when my mum has been cooking for an event and you try and pinch as much food as you can because you know it's gonna taste awesome and want to get in as much as you can XD I also really like Alex and Michael's interactions. It seems a lot less... strained, is how I would put it, in comparison to how Michael and Alex act throughout the rest of the series. Though, I guess this is because Miranda is still around at this point. It's nice to see that distinct difference in Michael's character because it shows us how much the death of his wife affected him. I hate to bring it up again but the nonsensical descriptions make a return here when you make your first description of Miranda. I understand that you want to show how important she is to these two people, and how much she affected their lives while she was around but the descriptions kinda had me perplexed and scratching my head. Hair cannot warm a room and a smile that 'assists the tree in brightening it' just makes no sense at all. I get what you're trying to say with these things Brady but sometimes you've just got to strip it back a bit and not try and make everything into a metaphor contest. In this case you could have simply said something like ' she has a warm personality and a smile that lights up the room'. There's nothing wrong with the classic lines on occasion. It's interesting to see the different relationships between the parents too. How Michael and Miranda are so loving but in that way of a couple who have been together forever and have settled down into this really nice sort of stage in their life. Then compare that to Alyssa and Will who seem to be the complete opposite. Again, we get the differences in the two families when Alex tells his mum he wants to be an actor and she accepts it and essentially lets him know that she believes in him. Then you see Alisha going to talk to her mum and you just know it's not going to go down nearly as well as it did with Alex. Which is kinda sad but it does go to show why Alisha's mother was so adamant about bringing her home from L.A and the end of the sequence. The little snippet of Paula in the episode, while I didn't find it overly funny, did get a little smile out of me. I like that you managed to work her into the episode somehow and I really hope Alex or Michael make the connection some time in the future because that I would find hilarious. All up I thought this was a great little Christmas episode. My only gripes were as mentioned above and again a few SPAG things that can easily be fixed with a keen eye. This Christmas special was a nice way to totally wrap up sequence one and was a good little read

RESPONSE: MJ's Review of "A Very Berreta Christmas"
Hey, thanks for the review, MJ! Glad you were able to read this even though it wasn't necessarily Christmastime, and you were able to enjoy it! XD
Haha!! The first page was definitely a little nod to all the traditional Christmas Eve nights that go on. I'm gonna admit, I do it myself too. XD So I'm really glad you were able to relate and enjoy that part! It was really fun to write, haha.
The main thing I wanted to do in this episode, bar introducing Miranda, was to really show how Alex and Michael were when she was still around. So I'm glad you really caught onto the differences between their characters, especially Michael's.
Sorry that little snipit confused you, MJ. In the episodes I'm currently writing/have written, I don't think there's anymore "overly descriptive" pieces, if my memory serves me correctly. So, hopefully you won't have that problem if you continue to read on.
The Berreta parents and the Hall parents are, basically, opposites, like you said. Another thing that I thought would really answer a question people might have been asking: "why is Alyssa like the way she is?" So, when I figured out I could semi-incorporate that into the story, I was all over that! XD I really loved having these two couples together, so you never know. I may just bring them all back in another episode, haha!
Really happy Paula's little scene at least brought a smile to your face! XD Always hoping for at least that with her. And the gears in my head have been turning for a possibility of the next Christmas episode, being set in the present, having the Berreta's remembering their first sight of Paula. XD
Glad you enjoyed this, MJ! And as always, thanks so much for the review! It means a lot. I'm making sure I go over the new episodes a lot better, don't worry! XD Thanks again!!

1x12 "Depart" Review
Right, I'm really sorry to say that I wasn't the biggest fan of this episode.
I've made it quite obvious by now that my favourite episodes so far have been the ones that relate to the show's original premise - teens trying to make it in Hollywood - and whilst episodes that have little to do with that premise are definitely possible in a series like this, I just hadn't connected enough to Alisha's character to really care about her dilemma. Do I think she made the wrong choice? Yes. Am I particularly sad to see her go? No, not really. She's consistently been the blandest member of the regular cast and whilst she has had redeeming moments, they haven't been enough to save her entirely. Alex is a much more engaging lead and I'm hoping the focus will be primarily on him now as he's a strong enough character to not need to share the spotlight.
Had Alisha and David kissed in the previous episode or was their first kiss off screen like their speech in this episode suggested? I don't quite remember but if it was the letter, I'd advise against doing it because audiences want "show, don't tell" and it's no fun to hear about a first kiss but not say it.
I'm pretty sure David meant Switzerland, not Sweden, due to their neutral status in conflict. Was that a deliberate joke to show he's not that bright or was it a mistake in the writing?
I think I'd be pretty pissed off if my friend left the city after an argument with only a letter and didn't even try and talk to me again. Alex was so clearly against Alisha leaving that I'm surprised he didn't try and actively stop her. I was expecting him to have a last minute change of heart and meet them at the airport soap opera style so I was kind of glad to see he'd stuck by his stubbornness and refused to see her off. He's not the nicest guy ever and I really like that about him. It's what makes him a much more compelling lead than Alisha was.
So yeah, wasn't completely sold on this one, I'm afraid. I'm hoping that with Alisha out of the picture now, things will be on the up. Only one more episode until I'm completely caught up and I'll just have to see what the flashback Christmas episode has in store for me!
Chin up, mate. Unfortunately us writers don't win every battle!

RESPONSE: Tom East's Review of 1.12 "Depart"
Sorry you weren't the biggest fan of this episode, Tom! But, going from how you're not the biggest fan of Alisha, I kind of thought you wouldn't. xD But, I'm glad you at least enjoy Alex, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy him. And while he will get more of the spotlight than he did, David will be stepping up into the main cast, so I'm sorry to say it's not just gonna be Alex all by himself. XD Hopefully you won't hate it!
Yes, David and Alisha kissed in the last episode. And, ohmygod. David did mean Switzerland, and that was a fault on my behalf. XD Have no idea what was going through my mind at that point and time, haha!
The reason Alex didn't stop Alisha, was because he was so angry that his best friend would "lie" to him, and trust someone they just met. He wasn't clearly thinking, and, whilst Alisha never openly went and tried to talk to him, Michael attempted to get him to come out of his room, which he did not. But at least you were glad he stuck with the decision he made! XD
Again, sorry you didn't enjoy this one, Tom! Hopefully that'll change with the Christmas episode, which... does have Alisha in it. XD But yeah, thanks again for the review!

Episode 101 - I started the show Audition and I have to say that I really enjoy it. I know it's only the first episode but I really like it. I really liked the line - This is starting to get on my nerves. All of them keep saying we need more experience. Well, give us a chance for some experience, people! - Because that is the complete truth. People want experience but how are you suppose to get experience? (lol) All the characters seem enjoyable and I'm sure there is plenty of good entertainment along the way. I like the angle of the mother and the fact that it's an emotional situation and probably he's going to hit it off with someone else possibly. This is a good start and really look forward to continuing. 8/10

Episode 102 - I'm on to the next episode in the story and I have to say that you kept my attention through this one as well. We continue to see the struggle of getting Alex and Alisha to the place of stardom. I feel bad for Michael because I know that he lost someone in his life and he wants the best for his child. I'm hoping that things work out and probably the only way I'm going to find out is keep going. It's a nice experience that doesn't take me two hours to get through and it still holds my attention like a two hour experience. I could say that my favorite characters right now are Alex and Alisha. I like Paula because it really seems that she is trying and she is going to be there for the experience. I also see this as a sign that I'm suppose to be reading this because my avatar is the lead character. Keep it up and obviously you have. 8/10

Episode 103 - Yet another good episode. I liked how Paula showed up early to tell the kids that they had an acting class early in the morning. I felt the mood coming through on Alex and the excitement on Paula was priceless. I can really say that this was a nice mix and then to meet the new kids and to see how rude they are. I'm sure they're going to be a nice/bad mix to the storyline. Well, this was nice entertainment today. I think there are some connections being built in the background (of course) between Paula and Michael and that will be interesting to see where that goes. Good Job! 8/10

Hey, thanks for reading and reviewing, Andrew! It means a lot that you decided to take the time and do this, and it's even more awesome that you enjoyed it! I'm really glad you enjoyed these three episodes, because, to me, the first couple are always the hardest to write, and get right. XD I'm happy you enjoy all of the characters, because I love how different they are. I think Jack was the one who pointed, but how the little "team" they've all formed, is basically a team of inexperienced (being professional) people. But they have so much heart at what they love to do, and that's why I love writing them. Paula moments are always really fun to write, and I get really happy when they pay off in the end, so yay for you enjoying them! XD She has a lot more moments coming up, so stay tuned for those! haha. Speaking of characters, Jordan and Angela are very interesting to write for. They're so different, yet so similar. You'll see what I mean in the next episode, but I'm curious to what you think about what's revealed about them. Hope you don't hate it too much! XD Thanks again, Andrew! Really appreciated, and I hope you continue to enjoy!

Episode 104 - Again. Good job. This was a good part to the story. I think Paula is really energetic and if I was Michael I would be getting tired of that. I really liked Alex when he was freaking about singing and then he doesn't even get paired up with Alisha. I could feel that moment because singing would not be a strong avenue for me either. You played out the whole song! That was different and unique but the fact that the teacher liked it and they clapped for them I was thinking - Oh they bonded! - The ending and seeing the reaction from Jordan...Wow! And so it gets a little more intense. 8/10

"A Very Berreta Christmas" Review
"I was not informed of this information" - GREAT LINE! Had me laughing for ages. Nice to see Alex getting some comedy, Paula's usually the sole source of it in this show. Michael even gets a great like with "Really? I mean... really?" I've never been a huge fan of Michael but he has his moments. They're usually with Paula but Miranda makes a nice substitute here. Actually, Miranda in general is a great character. I liked her asking if Alex had asked Alisha out yet and then refusing to accept that he doesn't like her even after his shocked reaction. Very mom-like behavior!
Great leaning on the fourth wall with Miranda's comment about Alisha knocking on the door. When I have guests coming over I'm waiting for ages, even if they say they'll be a minute. In television, everybody arrives perfectly on time. It might not have been intentional but it made me chuckle.
I think I died when Paula appeared. Bloody brilliant!
Really enjoyed this episode, it was well written and every character had good moments. I like that this wasn't super-happy like a lot of Christmas specials are and there was a focus on Alyssa and Will falling out. Nothing you do is gonna make me like Alyssa and I really, really dislike her for forcing Alisha to leave LA but what can you do!
I'm excited to see what S2 brings!

Wow! Two reviews! XD Thanks, guys! I'm really glad you enjoyed these episodes!
@-Andrew: Paula is just insane. XD That's the best way to put it. And I'm glad you're enjoying her! This episode, and the next, really play with the strength and weaknesses for Alex and Alisha. This time, we saw Alisha's strengths, even though she was paired with Angela. Also, Jordan is very hot-headed, and can blow his top very quickly, which is shown throughout the series, and will come into play during Sequence Two. So, I hope you enjoy that! Thanks again, Andrew!
@-Tom: Yeah, I had to try and throw in some comedy with no Paula around! XD Also glad you liked that Michael line. He's really fun and life-loving with Miranda around, who I'm glad you enjoyed. I really loved writing her, so much I brought her back for an episode in the next sequence, even if it's just for a little bit. Yep, she's a total mom, haha. And anytime someone chuckles, it's totally intentional! I'll take what I can get. XD I'm really glad you enjoyed this episode, it was a lot of fun to write! And I'm almost positive no one will ever like Alyssa, haha. I might just bring her in for a redemption story so everyone will magically love her! XD Thanks, Tom! Hope you enjoy the next sequence!

Episode 105 - This episode felt short for a reason. It was interesting to see the intimidated Alisha. It was Alisha that shined in the previous episode but Alex got to shine in this one. I'm really feeling something for Alex and hoping that everything works out for him. I don't know where Jordan and Angela are going to go in the storyline but I'm hoping that Alex and Alisha will be able to prove that they are better than Jordan and Angela. I thought the part where it seemed that Jordan was crying in his acting part, that was funny. Paula coming into the house at 5am I didn't quite understand why she did that but it was a good sense of how much she is working to get these kids where they need to be. 7/10

Yeah, I've been told the episode seemed rather short, and I think it's because I had a little trouble with writing it. It just seemed to take me a rather long time. Alisha has a very big story arc this season, and her "not being able to speak out" is a pretty big flaw she has and has to deal with. I'm really glad you like Alex! I'm glad if you like any character! XD Jordan and Angela's roles become more prominent towards the second arc of this sequence, so watch out for that! The reasoning Paula came into the house, was, basically, to just set up the day the episode took place. I just needed to add something else so the episode wouldn't be really short. But yeah, Paula's working hard, haha!
Thanks again, Andrew!

REVIEW - Audition "First Sequence"I want to first start off by apologizing for taking this friggin' long to review Audition! Lol. Also, I'm gonna review the sequence as a whole with little individual mini reviews for each episode. Hope that's cool. Episode 1.01 - Here are my thoughts, man Alex is pushy Lol. I like all the characters though, but that kid is determined, would probably be a better word to describe him. I like that you had them going to a few talent agencies and not just have them walk into the first one and get picked up. That gives the series some realness. It's a brutal business to get into. I love Paula right off the bat, and I see Amy Adams from dialogue to actions. Hilarious! Pretty decent start to the series. Episode 1.02 - Paula is friggin' adorable. Lol. Anyhow, this episode really brought her to the forefront and it was great to see some behind-the-scenes of what an Agent has to deal with in the entertainment world. Michael needs to calm the f**k down. Lol. Paula's trying. I love how Alisha is starting to warm up to Paula and accepts her in the end. My only concern in this episode was a few times the dialogue got repetitive with Michael and Alex talking about Paula. I like the obvious setup for the next episode at least: LA TEEN TALENT. Episode 1.03 - Angela is a bitch. Just sayin' Anyhow, Lol, I'm not sure how I feel about this episode. I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first two. I liked the introduction of Angela and Jordan. The Villains... okay, maybe a strong word but I love the conflict of them being added to the mix Lol. Okay onto the next episode. Episode 1.04 - WOW! Was not expecting that! Jordan's an ass! I don't like him... when are you killing him off? Just wondering. Lol. I liked this episode. It was really interesting with the sing-off and such. Something I've never seen in a VS before so kudos! I know this series is about Alisha and Alex but I demand more Paula, Brady. Do you hear me? Lol. Episode 1.05 - What the hell? Did Paula make a key to this apartment when no one was looking? Lmfao!! Creepy ass Paula. Lol. In the early dialogue you misspelled Michael calling him Michaela and I couldn't help but to think that was foreshadowing a Paula/Michael love connection... wishful thinking on my part Lmfao! I can't help but to think that Paula needs a new alarm clock. Lol. Poor Alisha. What the hell? Episode 1.06 – HAHA! I love Paula! She's so professional on the phone. Lol. I am so happy Alisha decided to do this commercial with or without Alex. I think had she of said no it would have ruined a perfectly good character growth opportunity, so I am glad you didn't go that route. Once again Paula's being professional, can't even remember the guys name. I love it. One part that seems a little confusing is that Dominic (who you call Donald throughout his dialogue, by the way) called Paula in the opening and told her he had seen the audition tapes, shouldn't he know what Alex and Alisha look like? Episode 1.07 – Jordan's an ass. Again I repeat, when are you killing him off? Lol. I like how he has no problem treating Angela like crap, but if someone talks back to her he stands up for her and vice-versa. He treats her like crap and she stands up for him. It's sad that there is actual relationships like this out there. James an interesting character to introduce. You get to see the darker side of show biz. I like that. Episode 1.08 – HAHA! Why is Paula still driving? Lol. Wait, how did she get her licence to begin with. Lol. Anyhow, I love this opening. I love the interactions between Michael and Paula. I love how David didn't take any of Jordan and Angela's crap. Episode 1.09 – I've noticed Paula's knocked instead of walking in, in the last couple episodes... does this mean Michael finally took her key away? Lol. Poor David, his apartment sounds like hell. Lol. The only downside to this episode was that Alyssa never really explained why she wanted Alisha home. All she said was she needed her... but why?!? I don't like Alyssa already. Lol. Episode 1.10 – Okay, so this was the first episode I got so lost in that I forgot to take notes while reading it... which is a good thing. This is my favorite episode of Audition yet. I loved the interactions between Michael and Alisha. It felt real, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Episode 1.11 – I like your descriptions in this episode. I'm also enjoying the Alisha/David relationship that's developing. It's cute but makes me sad to think that Alisha may be leaving. I also enjoyed seeing some more history of Jordan and Angela and knowing that this whole apology has happened before. Episode 1.12 - I really don't like Alisha's mother for doing this to her. I know, in the end, it was Alisha's decision but still. Lol. I was a little taking off guard by how angry Alex was. I mean he was in the room when Alyssa had told everyone episodes prior that she wanted Alisha home, so it wasn't like a decision was coming out of left field. But I guess maybe it was more of him realizing that he's now on this journey alone. Halloween Special – HAHA! I love Alisha's enthusiasm to the fifty dollar gift card. It made me laugh Lol. OMG! Okay, so I'm 2 pages in and this has to be the funniest episode yet. I love when Paula asks the kids when they're getting their licenses Lol. So, funny. Okay, now I'm a little confused. They just got finished saying they don't have licenses but then Alisha shoves Alex out the door because she's going to drive? I love Halloween. From your descriptions, I would totally hit up this party if I was part of LA Teen. Christmas Special – HAHA! I love Michael's dialogue about the sweater. I can't help but feel sad going into this episode knowing that in the future Mrs. Berreta will be dead And this is killing me because she's so nice. Ugh. Okay, breath. Lol. Of course Paula would be on Santa's lap Lmfao!! Overall I enjoyed the first sequence. Paula is obviously my favorite, but there were a few key areas that made me love Alisha as well, one being the scene with Michael in the kitchen discussing her departure. I can see why lots of people are shipping Paula and Michael. It needs to happen! They have some great chemistry. I feel sort of bad for David because he didn't really get to dig deeper into where him and Alisha were heading romantically. However, I am excited to see his journey. He's a character I think I could really enjoy as well. Anyhow great job!!

Thanks for these reviews, Darrin! They were nice surprises to see when I logged back on!
1.01 - Alex really only wants to get into a movie, and it be that. He would really rather not go through all this hassle to become what he wants to be. He just wants to be it, haha. I'm really trying to make this very realistic, and showing them going to a couple of agencies gave it that feeling when I was writing it. Glad you like Paula! Join the club, haha!
1.02 - Really glad you like Paula! She's super fun to write for! I really wanted to have an episode focus on her struggles, so people could see how hard she actually tries. Michael is very protective of his son, haha, so of course he's going to be a little hesitant of Paula! Alisha's really shy, as you probably already know, but she knew Paula wanted to best, so she just had to accept!
1.03 - Jordan and Angela are very cynical people, more so the fact later on than now. This episode wasn't as fun to write as the first two, which is probably why it shows that people enjoyed it less. They add tons of trouble!
1.04 - The relationship between Jordan and Angela is fully explained in the next sequence, so there won't be that much clarification on it, as you probably already know from reading the rest of the episodes, haha! The singing aspect was rather interesting to write, because I too had never seen it done before, so I just kind of went with it, haha. Glad you liked it, though! And there will be more Paula! Promise!
1.05 - Paula's creepy, weird, crazy, funny... she's everything! Sorry about that typo! Sorry to dismiss your foreshadowing, haha. But yeah, Alisha had it in the bag last episode, so she had to get a taste of failure like Alex did last time! Can't show favorites.
1.06 - Paula's Paula! That's all there is to it, haha. Alisha's decision really echoed the one she made in the finale, so this was my lousy attempt at foreshadowing. She probably had the biggest growth this sequence, but I'll save that until the end of this. Sorry for calling him Donald, totally unintentional. And Dominic was never really confused by who they were, he just couldn't remember their names.
1.07 - Jordan only gets worse, haha! I really wanted to have their relationship real, and you're right, there are types out there, no matter how messed up they are. And James was just pretty much them times 10, so he was just terrible, haha.
1.08 - Glad you enjoyed Michael and Paula's interactions! They're fun to write. And David was fun to introduce, showing that not everyone succumbs to Jordan and Angela's nastiness.
1.09 - I never really wanted to fully explain why Alyssa had showed up in this episode, but I can see how that could have been bad from a reader's perspective, so apologies on my part. Glad you don't like her, as weird as that sounds, haha!
1.10 - Surprised this was your favorite, but still excited! Alisha and Michael were characters that really needed to solidify a bond with one another, in the sense that Michael can act as her father, too.
1.11 - Happy you enjoyed this episode- writing, characters! Thanks! David/Alisha are always cute to write, and I loved writing it! And digging deeper into Jordan and Angela is always fun as well! It was a couples episode now that I think about it.
1.12 - Alex was angry because of how Jordan and Angela worded what they said. The fact that Alisha told David, someone they really just met, rather than Alex, her best friend. So, he felt betrayed, especially since they were supposed to be so close.
Halloween Special - Paula is insane, probably in the best way possible, haha. The joke was supposed to be that they couldn't drive, and when they left during, pretty much, the chaos, no one really had time to process it. Far-fetched, I know, but it worked in my head, haha!
Christmas Special - Michael really needed to be shown in a light-hearted way in this episode since his wife was alive. Glad that shown through. And Miranda was tons of fun to write for because of how nice she is. And throwing Paula in there was just the cherry on top for writing this episode!
Thanks again for the reviews, Darrin! I'm glad you enjoyed the sequence, and hope you enjoy what's to come!

Episodes 106 - Good Episodes! I really liked the ending! Anyways. Paula again is a great personality to make you smile. I can see her jumping up and down on her bed. Hilarious! I enjoy the bond between Alex and Alisha. I think it's cool how they are good friends. I first thought they were brother and sister but I think I read where they were friends. Hmmm? When Alex was backing out, I was like you better not...and then like I said I really liked the end. Good job! I'm trying to find something I don't like, really I am!! 8/10
