Supernatural is an american drama/horror series that debuted on the WB Sepetember 2005. The story began with two brother. Sam(Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) and there quest to find there missing father, and there seemingly never ending struggle against evil. The brothers would soon discover they are not as alone as they thought as they meet several other hunters. Including there mother like figure Ellen(Samatha Ferris) sister figure Jo(Alona Tal). And the profet Chuck (Rob Benedict) The show is known for taking unexpected twists and turns, that most shows wouldnt do. The brothers rarley seem to have a happy ending. Now in it's fifth season the brothers battle against Lucifer(Mark Pellegrino) with the aid of there father figure and fellow hunter Bobby Singer(Jim Beaver) and the mighty Angel Castiel(Misha Collins). The fifth season focuses on the brother mending there broken relationship. Bobby coming to terms with being in a wheel chair and Castiel coming to terms with humanity. The Show has been renewed for a sixth season and will continue on, without the creative mind of Eric Kripke.

I enjoyed the first season, very much. The story of trying to find their father was one of the best stories told. But, similar to charmed, it sort of got duller and duller interms of demon hunting and stuff IMO -- and I didn't really have a favourite character to want to see what happened throughout. I've heard its a great show, my family watches it, but its not my sort of thing.
And Kripke has only just stepped down as showrunner, his creative input is still being used on the show.

I'm opposite of the post above me. I find the demon hunting and the apocalypse myth-arc the most interesting part of the series. The Angels just upped the standards.

I'm opposite of the post above me. I find the demon hunting and the apocalypse myth-arc the most interesting part of the series. The Angels just upped the standards. Well I wouldn't exactly say demon hunting in general -- just the fact that it turned into a hunters vs demons sort of thing, it just didn't appeal to me is all. I tried getting back into it recently, watching an episode of the current season. They were in a psych ward, pretending to be crazy, then go crazy. The writing was just very cheesy, and cliche. Like, the story of going there, then thinking they really are crazy. Then the Dean stuff at the end. Yeah. However, I did like the 66 seals or whatever it was, bringing forth Lucifer, I saw that on TV and I liked the show -- but its more of a 'can watch on occassion' -- 'can't sit down and watch it all' -- sort of how I am with Bones. I'm weird, I know...

That episode in the psych ward was pretty average. I haven't seen the one after it but apparently its worse. The best episodes this season are the myth-arc, the top ones "The End" and "Changing Channels".
The hunter vs demon thing isn't so big anymore, its more hunter vs angels vs demons vs devil (Its a little complicated unless you've seen it). Pretty much, just every man for himself now.

I would say I'm a fan of the show. I agree with what Jack said about the concept of the first season. It was a great plot, but I understand that they had to move on from that sometime. I don't think the show has totally lost it's flare, I still enjoy watching it.
Since I'm a huge fan of angels and stuff like that, It's easy for me to get intrigued, when those aspects of the storyline are used. Not that the random demon episodes aren't cool, because mostly, they are. This season has been pretty cool so far, with Lucifer finally rising. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything plays out with this storyline.

That episode in the psych ward was pretty average. I haven't seen the one after it but apparently its worse. I wouldnt say it was worse, I really enjoy there "Back To The Future" episodes. The problem was it was a repetative angle. Let's kill Sam and solve all our problems. It was nice seeing young naive John who everyone thought wouldn't be usefull, which contrasts John from the future who is like one of the most skilled demon hunters around. The thing that threw me was Anna who had been one of the Hero's in the fourth season when all this began and suddenly she comes back a villian!!

After seeing every episode up till "The Devil You Know", I gotta say this season is awesome. Not as good as last season, but still the quality I expect from this series. I loved "The Song Remains The Same" and "Darkside Of The Moon", becoming two of the best episodes this season along side "The End", "Changing Channels" and "Abandon All Hope".
The latest episode wasn't that great, just another set up but it was worth it just for the Hellhound fight.
Let's hope for an explosive finale.

Personally, I liked it. Sure the God reveal was crap. And the final fight was pretty tame, but what do you expect from a series that has a small budget?
Overall, it was a great episode. I was totally disturbed by Castiel blowing up. As was Bobby's. But they came back so I'm happy. I hope we see Castiel again, he really made this series epic.
Lisa...uh, not a big fan of her. She annoyed me in season 3, and this season isn't any different. Jo was far better. Seriously, last time Dean saw Lisa before this season was in season 3, and then he went to Hell for 40 years. How he even remembers her is beyond me, let alone still have feelings for her.
And that last shot? Creepy. I wonder if that is Sam, judging from his facial expression. He just seems...non-Sam. We shall see.
Also, Rock Of Ages by Def Leopard. Best scene in the entire season. Sorry, but everything was perfect in that part.

My mum, whose a big fan of the show (only because she thinks Jensen Ackles is hot), got me to watch the finale because she really wants me to get into this show. I know of the characters, their past, all of that -- very vaguely, but still know enough to watch the finale of a fifth season. I think it would have been the best series finale, and actually one of the best finales of any show I've watched. Good fight. Good plot. Good God Revelation. I think the CW should have let them finished the series on this (only if they cut the scene of Sam's return). It was such a moving ending with God (Chuck) writing in, I believe would be the last book of his (or comic, can't remember what he wrote), and talking about Family. Will I go back and watch the show from start to finish? I'm not sure. I really can't get passed season one again, even though it had a good 'finding our dad' storyline. But yeah, I just don't know if Supernatural is a show I could watch. Heck, if they added Allison Mack to the main cast next season I just might, but until that day ...

I liked the finale. The plot was pretty interesting and it was the only finale in a long time where I felt good. Others just leave me feeling all empty inside. Damn, wish I could have not seen that last clip with Sam. The show would have been over from my point of view but, what the heck, I guess I'll be back next season to see what else they'll put out. I think I actually screamed when Cas exploded. I was so hurt. But, like you said, they came back and everything was good Next season should be interesting, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Favorite Season: Season 4 Favorite Character(s): Castiel Least Favorite Character: Lisa
But I have to say my favorite part of the series was Sam's dark arc in season 4. It was so well handled. Just talking about it makes me wanna go watch "When The Levee Breaks" again.
