Bitten 1.03 Once In A Blue Moon ReviewSo, finally caught up on Bitten so I'm already for tomorrow's (today's? I dunno, it's Wednesday here, don't know if it's ticked over to Wednesday for you yet XD) new episode. Anyway, ontp the review for episode three! I think I've figured out what my problem with the first episode was: the story flow. Episode two and this episode I've felt have flowed really well and I get so caught up reading them that I'm not thinking about page numbers or how long I've been reading, I'm just busy enjoying the story! Another thing I loved about this episode was the progression with each of the characters. There seems to be a lot of mysteries in Bitten but I never feel like I'm being stringed along just for the sake of it. Like, there's little things being revealed here and there that keep me wanting more and not getting put out by the fact that I don't know all the answers yet XD And speaking of mysteries and suppresses, what the hell was that ending?! Omg, I don't even know what's going on anymore, I was totally surprised by that ending and kinda can't wait to find out what's going on there. Okay, back on track: I still love Gwen, she's totally my favourite character in this series. Though, I'm really enjoying Griffon as a character too. He seems kinda fun, even with his secret agenda XD And Milo, who've I've been pretty 'eh' on so far, I felt was a standout in this episode. I really liked him researching just what it is he can do, it was so cute in that he's kinda gone 'well, this is a thing so I might as well learn about it'. I was quite iffy on Sara and Will's romance at first because it just seemed to happen so fast in that first episode, but now that it's been slowed down a bit and we're getting to see them get to know each other a bit better I'm beginning to quite enjoy it. Oh, before I forget: Jeremy. That scene at the start when he speaks to the urn in the car? That totally made me sad-smile XD He also had a really great story in this episode. In fact, I think everyone had cool stories in this episode, haha! But yeah, I'll bring my rambling review to a close now. I really am enjoying Bitten with each new episode, it just keeps getting better and better! I can't wait for episode four, maybe we can get some answers about what the hell is going on with everyone!

So, that's Little Red 1.02 edited and ready to air. Half way though the edit on 1.03 and then it's on to writing 1.04 and 1.05. It's been a while since I've had so much fun working on a project

MJ, with "Little Red" now premiering, but as a full-fledged series, not the mini you originally envisioned, will this affect the continuation of "Edge"? I admit, I haven't read the released episodes yet, but the story line really intrigues me, but I hadn't realised there was only 3 episodes or so out. EoV is my baby and I will always come back to it, but right now I'm not sure when it will be continuing. I need to do an extensive re-plan and plot out the entirety of the story before I keep writing it. Right now LR is my main focus but in my down time I do work on EoV so it hasn't been abandoned, it's just on hiatus while I get my shit together. Episode 4 is half written so once I'm done with the first season of LR I'll work on getting that out, but then i'll probably put EoV back on hiatus while I work on re-planning the series. I hope that answers your question

Oh man, I used up my awesome sci-fi idea a few MOTMs back with 'Aurora'. However, I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something equally as awesome for this

Well, for not only being the only entrant for this MOTM but for totally exceeding my expectations in what people were going to submit to this contest I'm passing the crown on to stevieg. It's now your turn to think up a new contest for MOTM, just make a new thread and detail your contest rules/instructions in the first post As a side note: I really love the idea you came up with and think it would make an awesome movie! I do hope you plan to maybe pitch it here on the VPN because I would love to read a finished product for this idea

Reply to Kerry's review of 'The Howling'Review/Commentary for Little Red 1x01 - The HowlingWow, your teaser. I'm just going to start there because your descriptions are beautiful. You don't use to many words to get the point across, which would be an issue, but you pick just the right words to get it done. You paint quite a lovely picture for the reader. Again, this makes me so happy to read because I do worry about my descriptions and to hear that people are really liking them makes me so relieved XD Haha, yeah, Ethel is very mysterious. She's definitely a character to watch out for in the next few episodes. When I started casting LR I made the decision to go with predominantly British actors and actresses. Lucky for me there are some amazing British actors and actresses that were perfect for the parts I had in mind! Poor Malven, I feel like he's spent most his time as an older brother keeping a careful eye on Renwick and Audrey, trying to prevent them from going off and doing silly and dangerous things XD Thank you! Originally they were going to be two separate scenes but I decided the intercut with overlapping voices made it much more dramatic and fun to write Audrey is an absolute sweetheart deep down so, for better or for worse, of course she believed him when he said he didn't do it. It's probably one of her major flaws, she is much too trusting of people. Sorry! Lol. I'd like to say I don't have any more cliffhangers in the season but I would be lying, there are actually lots XD Thank you so much for the review! I have this stupidly happy grin on my face now and I'm just so glad people are enjoying reading LR and I hope you enjoy the next episode too

Reply to Orbingmaster's review of 'The Howling'WOW!! Just finished reading the premiere of "Little Red", and absolutely loved it - it was shorter then I was expecting, since many of the other VPN shows run to about 50/60 pages, but it still managed to convey an interesting story in what there was. Thank you so much! Yes, LR does run shorter than most the other series on the VPN with only half hour/30 page scripts. This is because LR was originally going to be just a mini-series but I decided there was much more to tell so it became a VS with multiple seasons planned. Each episode of LR is like a chapter of the overall story but I knew if I went with hour episodes I'd only end up with 2 or 3 episodes a season and would have been tempted to prop them with filler just to make the season longer. So, yeah, there's my long and convoluted explanation of why I decided to go with 30 page scripts instead of the traditional 50/60, haha XD This is a really big deal for me as a compliment because I always feel my strength lay in dialogue, not so much the description/action lines. So, yeah, to hear you say you loved the imagery of the writing makes me so happy Thanks! It took a while for me to find a balance with the language, making it sound old but not so old that it reads awkwardly. I'm glad to see that I've actually pulled it off XD Thank you again for your review! I hope I have you hooked and that you'll enjoy the second episode when it comes out on Friday

Reply to Aimee's review of 'The Howling'Review: "The Howling" - Little Red First off, I was so glad to wake up to Little Red's premiere. I've been really excited about this series, and now that's finally here I can't wait to read it. So, that said, I'm gonna be writing this review as I go along so beware XD All I can say is thank you and YAY first review I'm glad you thought that Description/action lines are probably what I struggle with most because I find it hard to take this amazing scenery and movements I have in my head and then translate them into the written word in a way that does what I can see in mind justice. You've definitely hit the nail on the head there. I even get kinda weirded out when writing her sometimes XD She is absolutely one of those people who is only in it for herself and holds her cards very close to her chest. I think Audrey feels exactly the same way, lol! She's at that age where the village is beginning to see her as an adult and she wants her father to give her the freedom that comes with that. At the same time though, she loves her father and knows how much her mothers death effected him which leads her to being a little more tolerant of his overprotectiveness. Don't trust Ethel, that's for sure. For all you know she's never been married, or maybe she's had a whole string of dead husbands, who knows? XD It was very nice of Audrey to let him go, wasn't it? Maybe too nice, but we'll see if that decision comes back to bite her later in the season. Heh... bite XD Lol, sorry, I unintentionally create a lot of cliffhangers! But yes, you will get to see a fair bit more of the mountain people in the next episode and, though you've probably guessed this already, they're pretty dodgy people, haha XD Thank you! Giving the language that "old timey-ish fantasy feel" as you call it, was one of the bigger challenges writing the series because, as you said, it can come off sounding a bit weird. Mind you, if you picture that characters as having that old time English accent it kinda helps the dialogue flow a lot better in your mind! Thank you so much! I was really worried about the first episode because while I felt it was good I don't think I really hit my stride with the series until the second episode, so it's great to have such a positive review I hope when the second episode comes out next week you enjoy it just as much as you did this one

Bitten 1.02 Blood Ties ReviewSo, read the second episode last night and I have to be honest when I say it was a whole step up from the pilot episode. I mean, I did really enjoy the pilot episode but something about this episode just really clicked with me and I found myself really getting into the story line, where there were times in the pilot that I found my attention wandering. So, yeah, great episode and if your writing's only going to improve I can't wait to read some of the later episode in the season But, moving on to this actual episode. I'm gonna be skimming though it and just jotting down things as I'm reminded of them so apologies if it's all a bit disjointed First up, the start of the episode caught my attention straight away so props for that! I do have one little complaint though and that was the use of the description "Red velvet runs along his finger tips." Yes, I get that it was blood but for some reason just using the words 'red velvet' to describe it I felt was a little over the top. And then I could only think about literal red velvet for the rest of the scene and that made for some pretty funny imagery that took away from the seriousness of the scene, for me anyway. I like how we find out that the whole werewolf thing is kinda like a virus in this episode, at least for people who are bit, anyway. It was really interesting to see how quickly things can go to shit when you start with just one infected person. Oh, Will and Gwen's interactions at their house? I really, really, loved that. It seemed so genuine and their interactions when they're like that, alone and able to be themselves around each other, are fast becoming some of my favourite scenes. I'm not going to even try and guess what's going on with Milo but the poor guy, everyone else seems to know whats happening to him except him. And the introduction of Griffon was interesting. Was he the wolf following Milo around? Is he even a werewolf? I feel like he might be. Oh well, I'll be keeping an eye on him anyway XD Dr. Troy. More like Dr. Murder. It was interesting to learn about Jeremy's father but I felt like maybe he was really easily convinced to trust werewolves when it seems like he's spent most his life killing them? I dunno, with so long believe one thing I feel like it would have taken a bit more than successful team escapade to make him suddenly become a werewolf sympathiser. Oh almost forgot about Sara and the whole being bitten by a werewolf but not having any kind of side effects from the bite. I was wondering that in the first episode when she got bitten but forgot about it until now. It'll be interesting to learn why that's the case with her, is it something directly related to Sara or is it more werewolf mythology and people can only be turned a certain way? "I didn't throw her" Oh Gwen, darling, you make me laugh XD Also, what's going on with Will? Totally didn't see that coming. And Abigail? Does everyone in this town have secret agendas? It makes me really excited for the next episode! Anyway, my only real qualms with the episode were a few SPAG errors here and there and the things I've previously mentioned. Besides that I really enjoyed this episode and the characters and all the story lines you have going. I look forward to reading the next episode because Bitten is becoming one of my fast favourites
